Our unique Microschool experience
Discovery Kids Microschool offers a small, nurturing learning environment designed for meaningful, individualized education. With maximum group sizes of 12 children, educators are able to provide intensive, relationship-based instruction tailored to each learner’s strengths, interests, and developmental needs.

Our learning philosophy
We provide a play-based, child-guided, individualized curriculum in a neurodiversity-affirming environment where all children are supported and valued as unique learners. Our program emphasizes creative expression, sensory enrichment, naturalistic exploration, and social-emotional engagement. Learning is designed to be meaningful, hands-on, and responsive to each child’s curiosity and developmental stage.
Literacy & Math foundations
Students participate in daily private reading tutoring, ensuring individualized progress in foundational literacy skills. Reading is approached as a gateway to imagination, confidence, and lifelong learning. In mathematics, students are grouped by skill and readiness into Explorers, Builders, and Thinkers. Our mastery-based approach supports students in developing strong, confident mathematical understanding without pressure or rushed progression.
Authentic assessment approach
We believe learning should be authentic and stress-free. Instead of traditional testing, we use observational assessments, core standards tracking, and ongoing teacher documentation of growth. There are no standardized tests or mandatory seat work, allowing learning to remain engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Integrative Support Services
Discovery Kids Microschool is a fully inclusive program that welcomes diverse learners. We integrate:
- Emotion coaching
- Sensory-based interventions
- Individualized behavioral and social-emotional supports
Children are supported in developing regulation skills, confidence, and positive peer relationships.
Additional support services including onsite therapies are available based on student need.

Friday Fun Days 2x per month
Choose to attend 3 or 4 days per week, selecting days according to your individual scheduling needs. Add on optional Friday Fun Days with library visits, field trips and special visitors twice per month.
